Julia Nunes
Since it was Julia's YouTube videos that motivated me to get back into songwriting, I wrote a song about her.
The lyrics and chords appear below.
I filmed this using my wife's Canon A610 digital camera, which also recorded the sound. The reason I keep whacking a chord on my guitar is that I had a wireless mic recording to a wav file on my computer at the same time. I planned to use the "chomps" to help line up the wav file with the video's sound and get them in sync.
This was a good idea, but I couldn't get the syncing to sync well enough to use. Despite my best efforts, the end product looked like a badly dubbed kung fu movie. This is too bad, because on the camera's recording, my guitar overpowers my voice. (Not a hard thing to do.) The wav file was much more balalnced.
Here are the words, followed by the chords.Julia Nunes
(words and music by John Governale)
She wear hats
That she knits
I guess that's
Why each one fits.
Wore a onesie in the tub.
Said, "Don't judge me,"
Don't do it, Bub.
Just go and
Listen to the girl with the Bushman ukulele.
Don't wait for shove to come to push, man, go get some daily
Goodness. Gracious.
Julia is ukelacious
Go hear some tunes
By Julia Nunes.
I have news:
She made CDs.
You can't accuse
Her of hiding these.
They have songs
She wrote herself.
Left Right Wrong's
Flying off the shelf.
So go and
Listen to the girl with the Bushman ukulele.
Don't wait for shove to come to push, man, go get some daily
Goodness. Gracious.
Julia is ukelacious.
Go hear some tunes
By Julia Nunes.
(Bridge)
Julia, who is a goddess,
Fills us with musical joy.
Flamers look at her bodice
And then ask if she's a boy.
(I don't think so.)
Her foot's asleep,
But not her brain.
What the bleep,
She can entertain.
Wakin' up
o see the sun.
Buttercup, baby,
She's the one.
So go sub-
Scribe to the girl who won a Bushman ukulele.
Do you need a whack on the tush, man, with a shalalee?
Goodness. Gracious.
Julia is ukelacious.
Go hear some tunes
By Julia Nunes.
I don't mean Nu-nes.
Go and hear some tunes
By Julia Nunes.
