The words are a poem I wrote more than 10 years ago, and the tune is from a song I wrote more than 15 years ago. I've put the two together, which technically, I guess, qualifies this as a new song.

Here's the lyric:

I have no desire to go
To zip code 90210.
Though I'm sure it's loads of fun
To watch the girls and grunion run
And take a warm Pacific dip,
I prefer a smaller zip

In a quiet state on the North Atlantic
Where life and love are not so frantic.
Where a typical matter of great concern
Is when will the foliage start to turn;

Or, at a colder time of year,
How big a storm is headed here;
Or in the Spring with buds on bow,
Should my tomatoes be in by now?

Let golden people of golden face
Chase gold and each other all over the place.
I, myself, am more inclined
Toward the "oh-four" state
And state of mind.
