I just read "Back to Maine" on another of your web sites and I am writing to thankyou for the healing words. My husband of 20 years recently passed away and I never was able to show him Maine but somehow those words were healing to my soul tonight. Thanks. Trose Admin reply: Trose, I'm sorry for your loss. Thank you for your kind words. That's quite the nicest comment any of my songs has received. Back to Maine is on my list to record on You Tube. Check back and you'll get to hear what it sounds like. John

Hola John, The EAB song is outstanding!! I am Colleen Teerling's Canadian counterpart on the Cerceris fumipennis project (using native wasps to find pests). We recently produced small number of t-shirts for Team Cerceris members. As a heartfelt thanks for the song dedication (and excellent article) I need to send you one. If you can fire me a postal address and preferred shirt size I would be most grateful. Keep up the great work. I am skipping out on work this morning to read and listen to your website. your bug brother, Philip

Dear rsjvnkhx, Thanks for your kind offer of a tooth-whitening kit, but unfortunately I have already invested in a tooth-yellowing kit that I am quite happy with. Should my songs become world famous, I will probably want to purchase a tooth-blackening kit. Do you have one of those? Keep checking back. When you see my video plays reach the hundreds of thousands, be sure to spam my guestbook again. John

Entertaining website. Read your column every week in the local newspaper right after I read Susan's. I have the Advertiser Democrat sent to me in Hawai`i. Seems like you are doing more writing of late. Appreciate your poems. Appreciate your stories of your military experience. Myself,I am a Viet Nam veteran (twice). At the University of Hawai`i where I am a graduate student, I always give the Iraq veterans gas, because they had evian water to drink and we had quinine tablets. Keep up the good writing. wayne hinano brumaghim

I too have a Artesano Guitar - 1990 Model 20. I don't know much about guitars, I was wondering, since you had the same type of guitar, do you have any information on it? Admin reply: Blanca, How and when did you get your guitar? What sort of music do you play? I have scoured the internet and there is not much info on Artesano guitars. Someone currently has a 1985 Model 50 for sale on EBay (auction ends 04 August 2009). The pics look very much like my Model 20. The head design is the same. The body shape is the same. The wood pattern on the back is similar. It looks, all in all, like a sister to my guitar. Click on the pics to see larger versions. Search for Artesano 20 on Ebay and you should find the entry. And here is an interesting link about Juan Orozco, who designed the Artesano: http://orozcoguitars.blogspot.com My guitar, which I bought $350 for back in 1992, has brilliant sound, even now. I don't sing very loudly, and it is easy for the guitar to overpower my voice. My only complaint is that my Artesano has intonation problems that are noticeable now, even in first position. I don't have the greatest of musical ears, so if I notice it, the problem is definitely there. Don't know what a luthier would charge to correct this or if it even can be corrected. Nonetheless, I love my guitar. John
